Gov. Evers Delivers State of the State Speech

In tonight's State of the State speech, Governor Evers recognized several bills that have been passed through bipartisan efforts. He then went on to set an agenda of things that need to be accomplished, including creating a task force on student debt in Wisconsin, making higher education more available to people in Wisconsin without the burden of long-term debt.

The legal struggle over the purge of Wisconsin voters from the voter polls continues.

Wisconsin Supreme Court Refuses to Expedite Voter Purge Case

In a somewhat surprising move, the state Supreme Court today decided 3-3 not to hear the pending litigation on the purging of possibly-moved voters in an expedited manner. Newly-elected conservative justice Brian Hagedorn joined the two more liberal judges Ann Walsh Bradley and Rebecca Dallet in voting to not hear the case.

Judge Holds Elections Commission in Contempt of Court

This morning Ozaukee County Judge Paul Malloy has found the state Elections Commission and its three Democratic members in contempt of court on removing voters from the state voting rolls who may have moved.

The city of Menomonie is working on a 20-year housing plan. The goal of this plan is to increase the amount of affordable housing in the area. Affordable housing is defined as housing that can be rented by families making 60% of the median income in the are, or purchased by families making 120% of the median income.
