We’re nearing the end of another year and already getting ready for Thanksgiving. Everything seems to speed up during these last weeks as we prepare for the holiday season and the New Year. As we try to slow things down, we have time to reflect on and remember what we accomplished this year and ask ourselves what we’re thankful for.

Changes are coming to solid waste collection and recycling in Dunn County. Recently the hours at the Downsville Transfer Station were changed and reduced, but more drastic changes are coming to Dunn County. This article will explain some of the needs for change, and what some of the upcoming changes will be. The detailed calendar changes are attached, along with some supporting documents. The video provides a much deeper detail into what is happening and why.

Local Organic Milk Supplier Closing

We are very sorry to hear that local organic dairy pioneer is closing down. Castle Rock was one of the first dairies in the area to ship organic milk in returnable glass bottles and has since expanded to produce ice cream, eggs, and butter.

Dunn County Wisconsin Yearly Budget Hearing

This is our video coverage of the annual Dunn County Budget hearing. The primary thing that happened of interest in this meeting was passing the proposed $20 per vehicle wheel tax. The wheel tax applies to cars, SUV's, light trucks that are registered in the county. The tax is expected to raise $725,000 that will be used to maintain the 425 miles of county roads. This money cannot be used to maintain roads in the city of Menomonie.
