Many of you who frequent Menomonie may have seen The Iron Knight, and wondered what this guy is all about and why does he walk around town in this outfit? Spottings have been frequent over the last two years, and some Stout students released a short documentary about him yesterday. Enjoy The Iron Knight!

Although the number of coronavirus positive tests dropped slightly today (which is normal for a weekend) the 1665 new cases were the fourth-highest number of cases in a single day - the three higher numbers were in the previous three days in Wisconsin. The percentage of positive cases topped 20% today, which is disturbingly high.
A peaceful protest, primarily of Stout Students, took place in downtown Menomonie, on 5/29/2020. We took some photographs of the protest and talked to one of the protesters. There was also another protest at Interstate 94 where a banner was placed across the highway on the pedestrian bridge.
The city of Menomonie is working on a 20-year housing plan. The goal of this plan is to increase the amount of affordable housing in the area. Affordable housing is defined as housing that can be rented by families making 60% of the median income in the are, or purchased by families making 120% of the median income.
Quick Update -- Due to road conditions our staff was unable to attend this meeting - I have filled in some information based on other media reports, primarily from the Dunn County News.
This is the video recording of the Menomonie School District special meeting of 9/24/2018. Particular items of interest include a discussion of the Home Sweet Menomonie program and if the district should contribute funds to it to help pay for down payments on homes for people moving to Menomonie for jobs, and a particularly spirited discussion continued from the last meeting about funding for the second phase of development for the Sports Complex.
