Correct a Cheating System with Fair Maps

I can always appreciate a good game of cribbage; sure, there’s some friendly competition, but more importantly, it’s a chance to catch up with someone and make some memories. But, imagine someone beat you to the end of the board just to find out they cheated the whole game, maybe by moving their pegs a couple extra spots each round or slyly taking a look at your cards. You’d probably be frustrated and distrusting if you play them again, right?


5th CD Fair Maps Hearing

The People's Map Commission appointed by Governor Evers is continuing to have hearings to receive input on the creation of fair maps in the state. The hearing concentrating on the 5th Congressional District will be held on Oct. 29 from 6-8:30 PM. The deadline for registering to comment during this hearing is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020. Each speaker will have 3 minutes to speak.

Fall in Line for Fair Maps Event Sunday - we can fix this

Western WI for Nonpartisan Voting Districts (a project of PCGRO) and the League of Women Voters, Greater Chippewa Valley will be holding an event called Fall in Line for Fair Maps this Sunday. The event will be a progressive visit to local businesses to purchase food and talk about fair maps and Gerrymandering.

Sunday, October 11 from noon to 4 pm

Decorate your car with purple for fair maps and flags to get out the vote.

Thursday night Matt Rothschild of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign and Dr. K. Zagorski spoke in a forum on fair maps and gerrymandering in Menomonie. The discussion, sponsored by the League of Women Voters of the Greater Chippewa Valley clarified the history and current status of gerrymandering in Wisconsin, and what can be done to move forward. Wisconsin currently has one of the most gerrymandered voting maps in the country.
