Menomonie City Council Considers Mask and Capacity Ordinances

September 17, 2020

In a special meeting at 5:30 this evening the Menomonie City Council considered an ordinance requiring mask-wearing in the city. They will also consider an ordinance on attendance limits. The agenda is attached and we will provide a video of the meeting later tonight.

People have been testifying both for and against the proposed ordinance and the meeting has at times been a little rowdy. We will have a recording of the Zoom meeting available later this evening.

Governor Evers’ Emergency Order , issued on July 30, instructed all Wisconsin residents to wear a face covering when in public or an enclosed space. Please see https://evers.wi.gov/Pages/Home.aspx for more information on this. The mandate has generated some questions from the community that we would like to take some time to address.
