The Trump campaign wire transferred 3 million dollars to the Wisconsin Election Commission overnight. According to Reid Magney the press contact for the commission, they have not yet received a petition for a recount and have no other information other than that they have been told a petition will be filed later today.

A quick update - the canvassed votes are in from all 72 counties in the state. The final unofficial count indicates that Biden has increased his lead in Wisconsin by 181 votes, and won by 20,608. These canvassed votes have not yet been made official by the state. The clock is ticking for the Trump campaign to file for a recount by 5 PM tomorrow, either for a full recount of the state or a more limited recount of a few counties.

Normal in this case is referring to the website, not to anything else. Like many of you, I stayed up late last night - just long enough to hear the President of the United States threaten democracy. And to see that the election is going to be with us for some time in the future. I intended to leave the site in election mode until the national elections seemed clear, but that is clearly far off in the future, and there are other things to talk about in the interim.

According to the Wisconsin Elections Commission, these are the things you need to know about the election on Tuesday.

1. The Wisconsin Elections Commission unanimously recommends all voters wear face coverings for voting on Election Day, but they are not required.
