This is our video coverage of the annual Dunn County Budget hearing. The primary thing that happened of interest in this meeting was passing the proposed $20 per vehicle wheel tax. The wheel tax applies to cars, SUV's, light trucks that are registered in the county. The tax is expected to raise $725

This always seems to happen in the first measurable snowfall every year as drivers re-tune their driving skills to match the slippery roads. Gov. Evers declares tornado path a disaster area

Governor Evers has signed Executive Order 47 which declares Chippewa, Dunn, and Clark counties as a disaster area due to the storm and tornado damage this week. This order follows Evers' visit to the Chippewa Valley on Wednesday, where he inspected the damage personally.

In a news release today Dunn County announced that they are considering implementing a $20 vehicle registration fee for vehicles "normally residing" in Dunn County. This would be in addition to the already-raised state registration fees. The fees would be used to help pay for county transportation
