Really? Hundreds of Harley-Davidson owners? And they all voted for Trump?

No matter what your opinion on current politics in the US, I think almost everyone can agree that it is often difficult to understand what the current president is trying to say. The new uproar over tariffs and the fallout from them is an example. And living in a state that is going to be particularly hard-hit in this tariff war (take your pick - cranberries, dairy products, soybeans, Harleys, we're suceptible) I am touchy about this. In regard to the Harleys, the president recently said

I guarantee you everybody that ever bought a Harley-Davidson voted for Trump," Trump said on Fox News's "Sunday Morning Futures." "I don’t know if you know that. I would have to — they call them bikers for Trump. There’s hundreds."

As is often the case I'm bewildered.  First of all, I personally know Harley-Davidson owners who did not vote for Trump.  So I have to believe his guarantee is wrong. And - hundreds??? How the heck many Harley owners does the President think there are? Heck, there are that many Harleys at one of the local bars on a nice summer weekend.

It's not just picking on a particular statement. This happens every day. I didn't realize that confusing the public was such a powerful political tool, but it has served this president well.
