Dunn County considering vehicle registration fee

In a news release today Dunn County announced that they are considering implementing a $20 vehicle registration fee for vehicles "normally residing" in Dunn County. This would be in addition to the already-raised state registration fees. The fees would be used to help pay for county transportation needs, primarily roads and bridges (although the money could also be used for trail maintenance, sidewalks, etc.) 

The registration fee would apply to vehicles registered with automobile or light truck plates. It  would not apply to vehicles for farm use, business use,  or many other classes of license. 

The fee will be voted on at the Nov. 12, 2019 county board meeting, and would go into effect some time in 2020 for new or renewal registrations.  A list of Frequently Asked Questions is available below.
