Over 500 people came to Wilson Park in Eau Claire today to protest the border policies of the Trump administration, particularly the separation of families. This is a quick edit of the entire event, the speeches, and the brief march afterward. The speakers brought a powerful message about immigrants, fairness, and the reality of what immigrants face coming to the United States today.

Over 700 marches and rallies were scheduled across the United States today. The mission statement for the Families Belong Together protest was

"Families Belong Together opposes the cruel, inhumane and unjustified separation of children from their parents along the U.S. border with Mexico and at other ports of entry into the U.S.  We protest the conditions in which these children are kept. We protest the irreversible trauma that has already been perpetrated on these children and their parents for the crime of seeking a better life."

We will have more information on the local rallies in Eau Claire and Menomonie tomorrow.
