COVID-19 cases continue their upward climb in Wisconsin

For the third day in a row, the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in the state per day has hit a record high. Today's report from the Department of Health Services shows a new high of 926 cases reported in the state. Although it is true that the number of tests being done in the state has increased greatly the percentage of tests that are positive also has been rising over the last few days, with over 8% of the tests done in the past 24 hours reported as positive.

Potential COVID-19 exposure in Dunn County on July 4

According to a press release from the Dunn County Health Department this morning, people attending the Knapp Valley Riders 4th of July event  in Knapp, Wisconsin may have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus. People who attended the event and who are experiencing any of the COVID-19 symptoms should report this to their medical provider and be tested.

Eau Claire City-County Health Department issues new COVID-19 order

The Eau Claire CIty and County Health Department has issued a new public health order that advises new restrictions due to the increase of COVID-19 cases in the county. The new order takes place at midnight tonight for Eau Claire County, and the primary changes in the new order (which is in effect until July 22 unless further changes are needed in the interim) include:

Cornell Street Dance, Fireworks, and Parade: July 3, 2020

We recommend if you were at any of these locations during the provided timeframe AND are experiencing or develop symptoms of COVID-19 that you contact a healthcare provider to be tested.

Wisconsin's coronavirus infection numbers have changed alarmingly over the past week, showing a severe increase, particularly in the last two days. Though it is hard to draw a lot of conclusions from a day or two of numbers, we're currently seeing a trend that is disturbing.

Dane County order closes bars, limits restaurants

After a week of quickly-increasing COVID-19 cases in young people, and 21% of the cases stemming from bars, the Madison and Dane County Health Department this morning ordered a reduction in capacity for restaurants and the shuttering of all bars for any non-takeout service.

For the third day in a row the Eau Claire City-County Health Department is reporting possible contact risks in Eau Claire, again involving bars on Water St. Today's report is another contact possibility at The Pickle (at a different time) and a potential risk of exposure at Brother's. Anyone who was attending these businesses during the listed hours and are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should contact their health provider.
