A.  Action to Approve the Consent Agenda, as presented:

 

1.  Minutes - That the board approves the following minutes, as presented:

         a) Regular Board Meeting Minutes of May 9, 2022

         b) Special Board Meeting Minutes of May 23, 2022

 

2.  Financial Reports - That the board approves general fund checks in the amount of $1,199,111.30 and cash receipts in the amount of        $174,430.47 for the month of May 2022, as presented.

 

3.  Donations - That the board approves donations exceeding $1,000 for the month of May 2022, as presented:

  • $1,000 donation from Mayo Foundation to the MHS 2022 Healthcare Scholarship Recipient
  • $5,000 donation from Mayo Foundation to the Special Education Department (used for trauma book study)
  • $2,500 donation from Mayo Foundation to Menomonie Middle School (used for WEB project)

 

4.  WIAA Renewal Membership - That the board approves the WIAA Renewal Membership, as presented.

IV. ACTION AGENDA

A. Approve Preliminary Budget for 2022-2023

The school board approved the budget 7-0.

B. Approve Changes to the Employee Handbook for 2022-2023

C. Approve Student/Parent Handbooks for 2022-2023

D. Revision to Policy 163.1, School Board Memberships

The motion to not require membership in the National School Board Association failed as no members were willing to second it.

V. DISCUSSION ITEMS/POLICY REVIEW

D. Review 2021-2022 Work Plan

E. Discuss Development of 2022-2023 Work Plan

F. Policy 345.6, Graduation Requirements (First Reading)

Policy 345.6 prescribes May 1 as the deadline for students to notify the district of their intent to graduate early the following year (see page 3).

 

Occasionally, unforeseen extenuating circumstances (ie. medical reasons, etc.) make it necessary for the high school principal to make an exception to the deadline.

 

This policy change (listed in bold print on page 3) is recommended to better align policy with current practice.
