Several citizens supported passing a resolution in support of Asian and Pacific Islander residents.

A. Proposed lease agreement with the Menomonie Area Senior Center, Inc. for premises at 1412 6th St. East – discussion and possible motion approving

Motion was passed unanimously

B. Proposed agreement with Menomonie Area Disc Golf Organization, Inc. outlining use and maintenance commitments for courses on city park properties – discussion and possible motion approving

Disc Golf Organization wishes to take responsibility for the disc golf courses in the city. This would be a 5-year agreement. This was approved unanimously.

C. Proposed resolution amending the Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation plan – discussion and possible resolution adoption

The purpose is to change the plan to allow government grants to fund 50% of funding in a grant. This motion was approved unanimously.

D. Proposed 2021 Special Events including the Dunn County Fair, Ludington Guard Band concerts, July 4th Celebration, Bingo in the Park, Lollapallooza, Mabel Tainter Theater, and Empty Bowls - discussion and possible motion approving

The motion is to do these events this year in person this year, assuming the events will follow COVID guidelines. This motion was approved unanimously. 

E. Review of Community Services Department stainless steel sander quotes – discussion and possible motion of action

This item is to replace the current sanders with more robust stainless steel sanders from Indianhead Truck of Menomonie. This item was approved unanimously.

F. Proposed Galloway Creek restoration project on city property east of 5th Street West – discussion and possible motion of action

Lower Chippewa Invasive Partnership is proposing doing a restoration project on this property as shown in the video. The Urban Forestry Board has supported this proposal. This proposal involves the removal of invasive species and teaching private owners how to maintain control of invasive species. The Gayle Family Foundation has committed $20,000 per year for three years. The proposal was passed unanimously.

G. Proposed 2-9-6E ordinance amendment regarding the removal of female amur cork trees – discussion and possible motion of direction

This project started in 2019 - the amur cork trees are listed as a public nuisance as they are all dying. They are marked by the city if dying and the property owner must pay to have the tree removed. The purpose is to declare all female amur cork trees as a public nuisance and require the healthy trees to also be removed to stop their invasive spread. This will be brought forward at a future meeting to consider this ordinance.

The city transfer site now has a second compactor. 

There is a proposal for more ATV/UTV routes through the county.

Councilperson Erdman asks to have the Menomonie Cares resolution brought to the next city council meeting. This would likely involve duplicating the Eau Claire resolution.
