Yeast is where the magic happens. It could be said that the entire history of beer is really the story of man's relationship to a tiny microbe called saccromyces cerevesiae--brewer's yeast. In this class we'll talk about sources of yeast. How to cultivate and take care of them so that they make an excellent beer. Specifically, we'll talk about oxygenation, nutrients and fermentation temperature. We'll talk about ale yeasts, lager yeasts, so-called "wild yeasts" and sour-beer bacteria.  Must be 21+ to participate. Instructor: Benjamin Kowalsky CLICK TO REGISTER
