The Wisconsin Conservation Congress: Advocating for Wisconsin’s Outdoors

The Spring Conservation Congress is your opportunity to weigh in with the Wisconsin DNR on many different matters of importance for conservation in the state. The Conservation Congress was started in 1934 by Aldo Leopold and is the only structure of its type in the US. The spring Public Hearing and County Meeting opens at 7 PM tonight and runs for 72 hours.

MADISON, Wis. – Gov. Tony Evers today signed declaring a State of Emergency in response to elevated wildfire conditions throughout Wisconsin.

DNR Seeking Public Comment On Draft Economic Impact Analysis Regarding Nitrate Pollution In Groundwater; Comment Deadline April 10

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is currently updating the NR 151, Wis. Adm. Code regarding nitrate pollution in groundwater.

The rule amendment proposes establishing agricultural nonpoint source performance standards targeted to abate nitrate pollution in groundwater areas of the state which are susceptible to groundwater contamination such that compliance with the nitrate standard can be achieved.

Central Dunn County Landowners Eligible For CWD Permits

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – Landowners on select parcels of private land in central Dunn County are eligible for free chronic wasting disease (CWD) surveillance permits. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) asks landowners within the surveillance area to apply for a permit to help the DNR better understand the extent of CWD in the area.
