MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers and Wisconsin Department of Health Services Secretary-designee Andrea Palm today signed Emergency Order , relating to the operation of an alternative care facility (ACF) at State Fair Park in West Allis.

GOP legislators take Safer at Home extension to the Supreme Court

As was expected, today Republican leaders in the state legislature took Tony Evers and DHS Secretary Designate Andrea Palm to court. They are requesting an emergency order from the State Supreme Court to have the recent extension of the Safer at Home order rolled back. Under the recent extension non-essential businesses, schools, and other entities will remain closed until May 26.

Governor Evers Declares Wildfire Emergency

This morning Governor Evers declared a state of emergency due to wildfires in the state. 

“Our first priority is protecting the people of Wisconsin and this executive order helps us control existing wildfires and use all available state assets to prevent new ones from starting,” Gov. Evers said. “With the Wisconsin National Guard, we'll have the resources we need to appropriately assist in potential wildfire response and recovery efforts.”

MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers today announced that the state of Wisconsin is taking big steps to increase COVID-19 testing capacity throughout the state. Working with the Wisconsin Clinical Lab Network, the state has grown the number of labs performing COVID-19 tests from just eight labs one month ago to 36 labs as of today.

The increase of active COVID-19 cases continues in Wisconsin, with a total of 4,045 confirmed cases and 42,635 negative tests.  205 deaths have been reported, and 1153 hospitalizations, which is 29% of the number of people tested. 

Campgrounds in Dunn County - a clarification

In a joint press release this morning the Dunn County Department of Health Service and Dunn County Sheriff clarified the use of campgrounds in the county under the Safer at Home restrictions. There are six licensed campgrounds in Dunn County, and they are allowed to be open during the Safer at Home program. However, they are not open to recreational use.
