In today's call, Governor Tony Evers stated that there will be no further attempts at a state-wide order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 similar to the previous Safer At Home order. The Governor believes the GOP in the state is unwilling to support any state-wide restrictions on behavior, and in fact are not interested in any enforced restrictions of any kind.

"It just doesn’t make any sense spending a lot of time doing something we know isn’t going to be successful."

Discussions with the GOP leaders in the legislature will, however, continue. The Scope Statement previously sent to the legislature for consideration has been withdrawn.
