Today's COVID-19 numbers reach a new record for new reported cases per day, at 7073 new cases in today's numbers. The new current 7-day rolling average of cases is 5825, also a new record. This is particularly surprising as Monday reported cases are generally low since they reflect activity over the weekend. 35% of today's reported tests were positive.

The reported number of daily deaths, 66, also sets a new record for the state, as did the number of hospitalizations at 291. The rate of increase  of most of the indicators of COVID growth is increasing quickly in the state. We will have local numbers for Chippewa Valley counties later today.
