Drive-through testing is taking place over the next week through many of the counties in the state. This has been mentioned here before but it was brought out again this morning in the Governor's briefing and we have received more detail about the local testing for Dunn and Eau Claire counties.

Dunn and Eau Claire counties are partnering to hold a drive-through testing assisted by the National Guard at the Chippewa Valley Technical College/Prevea Health site at 617 W. Clairemont Avenue in Eau Claire. The testing will take place on Sunday, May 10 from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM and on Monday, May 11 from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM or until testing supplies run out.

Any Wisconsin resident 5 years old or older may attend any of these clinics if they exhibit any of these COVID-19 symptoms - fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of smell or taste. These will be nasal swab tests. Following testing patients should return home for isolation, and test results will be available within 24-48 hours. Testing is free of cost. You should check the county Facebook page  which will contain more current information on testing and will inform you if testing supplies run out.

These community tests will provide a good snapshot of the state of COVID-19 spread in the area. After the community testing events COVID-19 tests will still be available through local healthcare providers.

For more information regarding this event please call the Eau Claire COVID-19 Call Center at 715-831-7425. Additional testing sites will be added to the Western WI Public Health Readiness Consortium site at http://wwphrc.org/covid-19-community-testing/.
