Between Feb. 3 and Feb. 17 the number of new COVID-19 cases in Dunn County met the state standard for a "high" number of cases, which is a drop from the previous "very high" level. This is good news and as Dunn County Health Department Administrator KT Gallagher announced today, "Dunn County residents have been doing a great job washing up, backing up and masking up. Because of this hard work our local COVID-19 case activity and percent positivity by test has come down.” The county has been averaging 17 cases per day per 100,000 residents.

The lower rate of infections has prompted the County Health Department to relax the rules advising county residents on the size of meetings in the county. The new advisory recommends that indoor meetings be limited to 25 individuals for indoor meetings and 50 individuals for outdoor meetings.  “Mass gathering” is any planned or spontaneous, public or private event or convening that will bring together or is likely to bring people together in a single room or single confined or enclosed space at the same time."

The county still advises that records should be kept of the people attending mass gatherings, and that citizens should continue to follow rules for wearing masks, maintaining 6 feet of social distancing when possible, and washing hands as often as practical. People should stay home when they are sick.
