Eau Claire Grand Avenue Pedestrian Bridge Temporarily Closing

As part of the Grand Avenue Plaza project, the Grand Avenue Pedestrian Bridge will be temporarily closed for the installation of a storm sewer and to pour concrete. Pedestrians and bicyclists should use caution when traveling through this area.

Work is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27 through Friday, May 29,  from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.

Dunn County Fair to be limited to remote youth events

In a press release the Dunn County Fair Board announced that all in-person events for the Dunn County Fair are canceled for 2020. The fair will be limited to youth and 4-H events that can take place remotely.

Pier 1 closing all retail operations

In a Pier 1 announced the orderly shutdown of all of their retail operations, including closing all stores and liquidating inventory, including their e-commerce operations and intellectual property.  They join a list of companies suffering in the pandemic, including J. C.

Dry and Breezy - please don't burn

You may have been as surprised as I was to go to the site this morning and see a weather warning on such a clear and beautiful day. The weather statement today is because conditions are very dry and it will be breezy today. Fires will start very easily. Please do not burn anything outside today. All DNR burning permits in Wisconsin have been suspended since March 26, and conditions are particularly hazardous today.

Menomonie School Board Meeting of 4/13/2020

The Menomonie School District Board will begin meeting again tonight, holding their first virtual meeting. The agenda is attached below. Citizens who want to listen to the board meeting will be able to listen by calling 1- 415-655-0002 and using the access code: 285 826 150. We will attempt to make a recording of the board meeting's virtual display and sound for future reference.
