A hearing was held today about the re-issuance of the WPDES permit for Cranberry Creek Farm. Cranberry Creek is asking to expand from approximately 2000 cows to over 7000. Many testified at the hearing today, raising various issues with the state of the permit application, while also questioning the wisdom of a farm fo that scale in an area that is already suffering from groundwater degradation.

Don Heit, Town of Dunn Chair dies

I am saddened to report that Don Heit, long-term (nearly 37 years) chair of the Town of Dunn board died unexpectedly Monday morning. Don was  a friend to many in the Downsville area, and was involved in many projects to better the community.

VIsitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday and the funeral will take place 11:00 AM Monday December 19, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie.
