Menomonie Police ask for "Food For Fines"

Menomonie– Today marks the start of the Menomonie Police Department’s fifth annual ‘Food For Fines’
program. The program runs from November 1 until December 31, with donations benefitting the Stepping
Stones of Dunn County food pantry.

Battle of the Badges blood drive

The Menomonie Police Department, Menomonie Fire Department, Dunn County Sheriff’s Office and UW-Stout Police Department are preparing for the first-ever Battle of the Badges blood drive this week. This is a friendly competition to see which of these public service agencies can get the most people to donate blood, since blood donations have been down during the pandemic.

In accordance with the guidelines from the Dunn County Health Department, in-person attendance for the public Board meeting will be limited to 25 people. It is anticipated that there will be 14 spaces available for members of the public. The meeting will also be live-streamed on this page and will go live shortly before 5:30 on Sept. 28.

Eau Claire County looking for information on dog bite incident

The Eau Claire City-County Health Department is seeking assistance in locating a dog that bit a 10-year-old girl, Tuesday, September 15th, 2020, at approximately 6:30 p.m. The bite occurred at the entrance the tunnel of Birch Street and Hastings Way (near the old YMCA tennis building) in Eau Claire, WI.

Dunn County Solid Waste and Recycling will stop handling waste and recycling on January 1, 2021. Due to drastic changes in the recycling industry, the cost of handling recycled materials has skyrocketed over the past few years. Because of this the costs of running the program for municipalities in Dunn County has increased, and the cost of residents in the different municipalities in the county was scheduled to increase quickly
