Menomonie High School is currently in lockdown. According to news from the Menomonie Police Department and an email sent to parents this morning a scrap of paper was found in the school with an inappropriate reference to a school shooter. The police and school district are not considering this a credible threat and according to social media the hard lockdown has just been changed to a soft lockdown. The police and school district are not considering this a credible threat but are proceeding in the most cautious mode possible.

According to Menomonie Police:

This morning it was reported that a scrap of paper with an inappropriate reference to a school shooter was found at Menomonie High School.

Everyone is fine and there is no indication of any credible threat to the students and staff, but the building is being locked down and we are on site as an abundance of caution.

Today's lockdown ended at approximately noon today. A statement from school superintendent Joe Zydowsky is attached below.
