Screening of John H. Howe, Architect | WisCommunity

Join filmmaker Rob Barros as we screen his new documentary of architect John H. Howe.  John H. Howe, Architect:  Frank Lloyd Wright’s Master of Perspective is Barros’ organically made documentary film about the chief draftsman to Frank Lloyd Wright and the Taliesin Fellowship.  The film is narrated by Howe himself, depicting what the early days of the Taliesin Fellowship were like, using reedited historic footage shot by Alden Dow in 1934.  The film also features interviews with family, colleagues, and clients detailing their relationships to the architect, why they chose to build specialized custom homes, and how it affects their lives. The soundtrack for this film was composed and performed by Rick Wakeman, the original keyboardist for the world-renowned progressive rock band “Yes”.  John Howe is the Architect who designed the Menomonie Public Library, which is briefly featured, along with a Menomonie home that Howe designed.  Rob Barros founded Barros Productions in 2006—producing The Dr. Harold C Deutsch World War II History Round Table in cooperation with Minnesota Historical Society since 2007.
