With the robust debate over federal infrastructure investments happening in Congress, it is time to rally and show that folks in Eau Claire support federal investment in passenger rail service!

WHAT: Rally for Rail: Get Eau Claire Back on Track!
WHEN: Saturday, August 21, at NOON
WHERE: Phoenix Park (south end near RCU), in downtown Eau Claire
WHY: We need to let our members of Congress, especially Rep. Ron Kind, know that we have his back to support both the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (which includes $66 billion for Passenger and Freight Rail, mostly for Amtrak), but also big, bold investments to further expand Amtrak as part of the $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation package for infrastructure.

- Jodi Emerson, 91st State Assembly District Representative from Eau Claire
- Andrew Werthmann, Eau Claire City Council member
- Phil Swanhorst, President of the Greater West Central Area Labor Council (AFL-CIO)
- Mark Quam, Vice President of All Aboard Wisconsin, Secretary/Treasurer of West Central Wisconsin Rail Coalition, President of the Chippewa Valley Transit Alliance, Wisconsin council representative for the national Rail Passengers Association
- Jeremy Gragert, Wisconsin Representative for the National Wildlife Federation, and member of the Eau Claire City Council

Some of the obvious benefits of passenger rail service are reducing automobile dependency, increased safety and mobility, and reducing car trips resulting in reduced greenhouse gas emissions. This is one way to Act on Climate!

We’ll be giving out free “#ACT Now on Climate” t-shirts and get a group photo together to send to Rep. Ron Kind to show our support for climate action as well as passenger rail service!

Feel free to bring your own signs in support of passenger rail service or climate action!
