To All:  Our next Community Conversations will be Saturday, April 15, from 1-3 PM at the Menomonie Public Library.  The topic will be “Why do we need Government?”  In the last century, government has provided public health measures and expanded education.  Investment by the government in science has brought us breakthroughs in medicine, transportation, infrastructure, and technology. The April 15 presentation will be a panel discussion by 3 local citizens who are or have been government leaders.  Come and meet our new Dunn County Manager, Paul Miller!  The panel will discuss services provided by our cities and counties.  American Amnesia, a book published in 2016, will be discussed.  It was written by two political scientists, Jacob Hacker and Paul Pierson, who examined the role of government in helping our country’s economy flourish in the 20th century.  I am looking forward to seeing your there for this discussion.  Bring a friend.  Lorene Vedder
