Responding to question about the Obama administration’s call today for better background checks and a ban on sales of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines for civilian use, Walker said the focus of legislation to prevent mass shootings like the recent killings at a Connecticut elementary school “should be on the evil inherent in the person” who commits the act, and not the tool he elects to use.
