Today, Governor Scott Walker posted on his official Twitter and Facebook accounts, "Philippians 4:13," a verse which reads, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."
Phil 4:13 got a lot of press when Tebow put the verse below his eyes during Florida's national championship season a few years ago. #sthash.igol0ZWJ.dpuf">Jonathon Merritt of the Religious News Service writes that it is one of the "most popular verses," especially among athletes:
Like Tebow, Philippians 4:13 functions as a kind of mystical incantation for many Christians. They recite the passage when they need to draw power from another place to defeat an enemy or conquer a difficult task. It’s a talisman like Green Lantern’s ring or He-Man’s sword.
Walker has been criticized in the past for not keeping a "separation of church and state," however, Walker asserts that the Constitution doesn't say anything about a "separation of church and state":
