He's still full of himself and thinks he could win anything he ever chooses to run for, but this is not the Tommy Thompson we know.

Tommy Thompson says he's "beyond mildly interested" in running for the U.S. Senate but has concerns about fundraising and putting together the right statewide team, according to a radio report.
WTMJ-AM's John Mercure said he talked to Thompson this morning by phone. The former guv agreed to go on the record but wouldn't allow the interview to be taped.
Mercure told his afternoon audience that Thompson was "very deliberate" in choosing his words.
Mercure quoted Thompson as saying, "I'm checking to make sure I could raise enough money." He said Thompson also wanted to assemble the right team, acknowledging it's been a long time since he's been on the ballot.
"If I run, I know I'll win," Mercure quoted him as saying. "I just want to make sure I do it right."
Thompson told Mercure he didn't make the weekend GOP convention because he was exhausted from his trip to Japan.
