Those of us who are old enough to remember the Sixties know that the period was a mixed blessing. Great music, a feeling of change in the air, mixed in with wildly turbulent times. I'd been thinking lately that some of the worst aspects of the Sixties are back, and this week I'm reminded that we have remnants of the good and the bad.
Buffalo Springfield played together the other night for the first time since 1968, and according to Rolling Stone it was a flawless performance. So much for the good.
Now for the bad - as Rachel Maddow will remind us, the worst of the decade is coming back to haunt us in politics. Let's hope it's a passing phase, though I have my doubts. I've added in a clip from the Buffalo Springfield concert - let's hope we keep hearing from these guys together or apart. I feel 14 again.
