How much has Alberta Darling moved to the right over her time in the legislature?

She was once so moderate that State Rep. Sandy Pasch, the Democrat runnning against her in a recall, says she voted for Darling way back when.

Their appearance on Sunday's "UpFront with Mike Gousha" program, which was taped on Friday and reported by WisPolitics.com in its weekly report to subscribers, maybe the only time they debate or appear together before the Sug. 9 recall election.

"I think that Senator Darling has changed over the years," Pasch said. "She did get my vote about 20 years ago, but has moved consistently to a much, a much more conservative way of approaching things.

"She used to be the moderate Republican from the Senate district, but that's not true anymore. Her stand on education, health care and a variety of things has changed," Pasch charged, echoing anti-Darling ads now airing.
