I'm a big supporter of One Wisconsin Now (OWN), the progressive research and advocacy group. But there's an obligation, I think, to speak up and tell your friends when you think they have overstepped, even if you agree with their goals.

It's understandable that OWN would want to do something to highlight Scott Walker's insensitivity (spelled g-r-e-e-d) to grab all of the cash from his inaugural party for himself and the Republican Party.

Having a counter-event, to raise money to feed the hungry and help people who are in much greater need that Wisconsin Republicans, is a great idea.

But calling it Rock the Panty?

Come on! That kind of double entendre, sexually suggestive stuff is just plain juvenile.  There's plenty of smut around already without OWN getting into it.

Some of the people who come to the Majestic on Jan. 3 for music, speakers and some progressive fun might even want to bring their kids. It starts at 7, after all, which is the family hour.

So why degrade the whole thing and make it R-rated by calling it Raid the Panty, or Rock the Panty? That's a terrible error in judgment.

What's that? It's Rock the PANTRY? Oh, like a food thing? Raising money to feed people?

Never mind.
