Rindfleish's Infamous "what I'm doing is policy for the campaign" Line Refers to Walker Campaign, Not Davis Campaign

Although many in the media have assumed that Walker aide Kelly Rindfleish was referring to Brett Davis' campaing for Lt. Governor when she emailed to an associate, "what I'm doing is policy for the campaign," this is not possible since Brett Davis' campaign had not yet started when she made that statement.

According to the against Rindfleish, the statement was made on January 25, 2010-- six weeks before Davis started his campaign on March 7, 2010.  Therefore, Rindfleish was clearly referring to the Walker campaign.

Further, there is no indication in the complaint that Rindfleish ever stopped doing policy work for the Walker campaign during the time she started in early January 2010 until the election in the following November.  Of course, she had other campaign duties-- including raising money for Davis and later the Walker campaign -- but her core responsibility was doing policy work for the campaign.

...On the desktop and through the secret email system that Scott Walker set up on his government office.

To be clear, there is every indication that Rindfleish had no official duties, with the exception of Operation Freedom, which was clearly also a campaign-front organization.

And she did it all, as the complaint bluntly states, "less than 20 feet from Scott Walker's office."
