IN RESPONSE TO GOVERNOR WALKER’S VISIT TO WESTERN WISCONSIN

The Governor has a history of asking us to trust him while he acts in a way not worthy of trust. He says he giving local government tools to deal with massive budget cuts and asks us to trust him. The prudent response is ‘we will only know we have the tools when we see the budget numbers.’

The non-partisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau said the “budget repair” bill is not even necessary.  And there are many ways to approach the financial needs of the state.

Senate Democrats sent a written offer to Majority Leader Fitzgerald agreeing to vote on the bill if only fiscal matters were considered. If the Governor wants to move forward on the refinancing bonds all he needs do is take the financial concessions given by our public workers and declare victory.
