You may remember that last year our site and a bi-partisan group of voters and congresspeople worked together to support a bill to regulate dog breeding in the state. This banning of puppy mills in Wisconsin was brought forward by our local senator and represenatative, Pat Kreitlow and Jeff Smith, after years of political wrangling over doing something about this problem.

But, not surprisingly, the new batch of Republicans are considering taking it back.  Why?  Because

"Mass dog breeding through 'puppy mills' is a big business," Pridemore said in a Tuesday email seeking cosponsors.

Apparently Wisconsin is open for business, and it doesn't matter how revolting or cruel the business is.
