Ron Johnson says he's identified the impediment to progress and points to it

We don't put much stock in political scientists -- politics is an art, not a science -- but we'll give the benefit of the doubt to this one, quoted in the Oshkhosh Daily Northwestern,Ron Johnson's hometown paper, on his first year in the US Senate:

James Simmons, a political expert at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, describes Johnson’s first year as unremarkable. He cited a November Public Policy Polling poll that showed 37 percent of Wisconsin residents approved of his job performance, while 34 percent did not...

Simmons said Johnson’s tendency to vote against leadership shows he is not a team player. He said Johnson’s legislative proposals lack substance.

”This was not a particularly auspicious year for the senator,” Simmons said. ”He seems to want to be more vocal than new members usually are and doesn’t seem to work well with others. He’s a wealthy man who is used to getting his own way, and he doesn’t seem to brook disagreement, even with conservatives and leaders from his own party.”

Wait until State Rep. Steve Nass, the chair of the Assembly's Anti-University Committee, hears about him.
