One of the "fake Democrats" -- I prefer to call them stealth Republicans -- running in the Democratic Party recall primaries isn't only that. He doesn't even live in the district he's seeking to represent, supposedly on behalf of an opposing political party.

James Buckley of Antigo is the Republican pretending to be a Democrat so his party can try to mess up the Democratic Party primary for the District 29 state Senate recall election. That's the district with the vacant seat recently given up by GOP Sen. Pam Galloway, whose departure gave the Democrats numerical parity in the Senate.

Buckley will go up against Assembly Rep. Donna Seidel (D-Wausau). If Seidel gets past him, her reward will be to face Republican-running-as-Republican Assembly Rep. Jerry Petrowski (R-Marathon).

The Antigo Daily Journal reports that the Langlade County city is not part of the 29th Senate District, whose easternmost county is Marathon. "However according to the Government Accountability Board, State Senate candidates do not have to live in the district where they are running. If Buckley were to win, he would have to establish residency before being sworn in."

Seidel and Petrowski actually do live in the 29th District. So to be entirely accurate, Buckley is a "carpetbagging stealth Republican who is running as a fake Democrat."
