We're looking for a bunch of great progressives to attend two different events in Chippewa Falls next month (May 19 and 20). You may have seen some of the ads flashing by on the site for the last few days.  Here's some more info.

FightingBobFest North kicks things off - This is Fighting Bob Fest, but good old Bob is traveling to the North Country for the spring. The theme of this year's BobFest North is "We are the 99%". This is the second year for this event, and the committee is working on bringing in some really great speakers.  This year's event will feature great progressive speakers, candidates, and a bunch of surprises.  We'll also have wonderful local food, and this year really great local beer from the folks at Valkyrie Brewing in Dallas (trust me, your mouth will thank you).    There will be booths from many progressive organizations and vendors (including Uppity Wisconsin -- stop by and say hello).  Live music, great progressive schwag to fill out your button collection, and a lot of fun for the whole family.  And it's all indoors, so you can listen to the speeches and keep dry if it rains.   It's free, but we're asking for a $20 donation at the door from those who can afford it.  This is at the Northern States Fairground in Chippewa.  Everyone had a great time last year, and I'm sure they will again.

The next day, May 20, is Netroots Wisconsin.  This year we're going to be focusing on activism.  Come to workshops, hold your own organizing meeting, and have a great day of working and learning. We are currently looking for proposals for sessions to be held at the event, and we're really looking for sponsors, and people to just sign up for tickets in advance so we can help to pay for the event.    Tickets are $25 and include breakfast and lunch.  Sponsorships start at $100, and get you recognition at the event and other good stuff.  On-Line registration is now open. One of the themes this year  will revolve around local protection for the environment, including a sand mining planning session.  We're also planning on having a training put together by MoveOn about how to participate in nonviolent action.
