According to the police report, Katherine Windels, the 26 year old from Cross Plains, apparently sent threatening emails under the name "Lisa Patterson" and a phony gmail account under the same name.
Police contacted the real Lisa Patterson and she said that she had not created the gmail account and a closer look at the IP addresses revealed that they were coming from Katherine Windels.
Patterson and Windels know eachother and had some type of following-out last fall that climaxed with Patterson calling the police about Windels, because Windels had been sent her numerous, harassing text messages.
So, apparently as a way to get even with Patterson for calling the police on her, Windels attempted to frame Patterson by sending out threats in her name to various GOP Senators.
The fear generated by Windels' disgusting actions should not be dismissed, but it is important to note that Windels had no intention of carrying out her threats and that the threats were part of a larger schemed aimed at framing Patterson.
It is clear that, while frightening, Windels never posed a real threat to the GOP senators-- a detail we are all glad to hear.
