I didn't have an opportunity today to get to the testimony in the capitol on this bill - the hearing is likely to continue until 5-7 AM this morning. There are still many people testifying to joint finance, and there are still 300 people waiting to testify. Republicans are intending to cut off all of the testimony after the people who are currently signed up have testified. Democrats are insisting that everyone who wants to testify should be allowed to do so.
In very recent news, Madison teachers have announced through their union that many of them will not be at work tomorrow in protest against the budget repair bill. This sick-in will be the first in Madison in 16 years. The union has apologized for the likely cancellation of school tomorrow on such short notice, but the fast-tracking of the bill has made it difficult to take more time to make a decision.
That's about all for today from Madison - there will be more pictures and videos by some time tomorrow morning, and more news in the morning on what has happened with the hearing, and the continuing protests.
