The latent message in Gov. Walker's planned budget is simply this: Gov. Walker knows better how to run your local pubilc school district than do local voters and school boards. And he's not going to wait to talk things through calmly and get consensus. He's calm in his own skin, and that's all that matters. Plus he's got the votes of his fellow Republicans, and he intends on ramming through all his excellent ideas. Whether you like them or not, and whether they make any economic sense or not.

So much for local control. That bit about big government being bad? Not when it comes to Republicans making decisions right down to your kid's classroom and, incidentally, your bedroom.

Try to remember that underlying theme as the ridiciulous outrages spewing out of the State Capitol's East Wing (where the governor's office is located) continue on their already torrid pace. Because, you see, this is no time to be thoughtful or sensitive. We're broke! And Gov. Scotty intends on making even more of us broke.

In actuality, the governor's modus operandi is: If it ain't broke, break it.
