Labor fest is one of Milwaukee's little secrets: Free admission, parking, too

Psssst. Wanna go to a free festival?

No, really. Free parking at Summerfest. Free admission to the grounds.

And once you're inside, there's a lot going on, for kids and for the whole family.

It's Milwaukee Laborfest, of course, and it's on Labor Day, noon to 5 p.m. at the lakefront.

There's quite a parade that starts at 11 at Zeidler Park downtown and ends at the grounds. Get there early and watch them arrive at the festival.

You'll have to buy your own beer and brats, or whatever else suits your appetite, but that's almost all you can spend money on.

Dom Noth of Milwaukee Labor Press has more details here.

Happy Labor day.
