Here is the full text of Article 1, Section 22, of the Wisconsin Constitution:

Maintenance of Free Government

The blessings of a free government can only be maintained by a firm adherence to justice, moderation, temperance, frugality and virtue, and by frequent recurrence to fundamental principles.

Did you catch that, Governor? Sure, you're being frugal (although it's likely, if you have your way, that your frugality will turn out to be pound foolish) but where is the justice, moderation, temperance and virtue in stripping public workers of all effective collective bargaining rights (except, of course, for unions you like)? Where's the justice, moderation, temperance and virtue of trying to do that in under a calendar week, when the objects of your measure were not only willing to sit down and work out these matters, but were told BY YOU that was your intent, before you abandoned any semblance of working out these issues because we have a "budget emergency"?

Just asking!
