In a generic take-down of Walker-style political corruption, comedy once again trumps journalism

On page one, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Sunday edition gave space to Scott Walker's non-denial denial ("not to my knowledge") regarding whether he knew of the $700,000 donation from Gogebic Taconite LLC to the conservative Wisconsin Club for Growth, apparently spent in the recall elections and greatly helping to save Walker's political career. Meanwhile, the newspaper's comics section was putting the general issue of "pay for play" political corruption into larger context, and with great humor. See a clip above and go to the link below for the full comic strip.

It's the Jon Stewart/"Comedy Central" effect: Real news more and more dumbs us down, while humorists like "Pearls Before Swine" cartoonist Stephen Pastis enlighten and inform us -- and with unassailable logic.
