Sooner or later, when you inflate your bio, someone's gonna find out. It might be your employer, or the media, or even the voters. But that doesn't stop it from happening all the time.
Latest example: Dan Bice reports that Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald, of Fitzwalkerstan's Flying Fitzgerald Brothers, didn't actually get a basketball scholarship to UW-Green Bay, as he claims in his bio.
Who's responsible? Oh, that darned Staff Error again. Why would you hire somebody with a name like that, anyway?
Fitzgerald transferred after a year to UW-Oshkosh where he received a degree in ..... journalism. Thought it would be creative writing, didn't you?
