Feingold on Walker's "Smoking Gun" Video: Evidence of "Fraudulent Campaign, Justifies Recall"

This morning Russ Feingold was a guest on Sly in the Morning.  Sly played for him the Oshkosh Northwetern editorial board meeting "smoking gun" tape where Walker promises to negotiate with unions and then played the sound bite of Walker saying that "if anyone is suprised by this, they've been asleep for the last two years.  Here is how Feingold responded:

Sly:  Do those two things resemble eachother in the slightest in any way, shape or form?

Feingold: You know, if there were any truth to that, I would write "While Wisconsin Sleeps," but we were not asleep. We heard exactly what he said, there was no hint whatsoever that he would do this substantively and we also didn't know that he would use tactics that would have made the original Mayor Daley blush to get this thing through. So, both the substance and the tactics are so not like Wisconsin that it is an unsual situation that justifies recall.  That kind of fraudulent campaign is one of the reasons this guy deserves to be recalled-- people generally don't want to undo an election, but this a very unusual series of behaviors.

Sly: But you think that's a significant audio...

Feingold: Yes, yes of course! How can somebody listen to that and not think they were taken for a ride?

Well said, sir.
