Blogging Potpourri and open thread

I'm going to mention a few things, issues, campaigns, and just plain stuff that's happening here:

The Indiegogo campaign for Wiscommunity is just about to end - as I write this, it has 12 hours left to go.  You can still get in on the social network for Wisconsin on the ground floor with the donation widget on the right.  As you can see, this could be going better, and the lack of funding is going to make for a long slow slog to build a networking site for Wisconsin that is a less commercial enterprise and more open to everyone. Also, it's Drinking Liberally time in Eau Claire again tomorrow night, and we're going to be talking about Wiscommunity, spreading liberal news on the Internet, and the possible upcoming Citizen Koch movie (more below).

Speaking of fund-raising campaigns - I'd like to mention that Mike McCabe is doing a Kickstarter campaign to publish his new book Blue Jeans in High Places. Y

We're working on another project here at the Uppity Farm, which is to do a theatrical showing of Citizen Koch here in the Chippewa Valley.   This is a movie showing, which will mean that we will need to sell a minimum number of tickets in advance to have this showing happen. So - warm up your credit cards and get ready to see the movie that PBS was afraid to show!

And while we're talking about the Koch Brothers, the Center for Media and Democracy has dug up some interesting new documents on Charles Koch's involvement in the John Birch Society (no surprise, his father was a founder, but Charles' involvement has not really been documented previously).   Lisa Graves was on Democracy Now talking about it this morning. And I've thrown in a little blast from the past - and yes, that IS John Denver. Let us know what you think about any of this in the comments (or anything else going on).
