AP: Unlike Walker, Chris Christie Opted Not to Appeal, Let Gay Marriages Continue

Governor Scott Walker keeps spinning that he now has no position on gay marriage-- even though he took a HUGE position in favor of discrimination by appealing the court's ruling and inviting a stay on the ruling until a higher court weighs-in.  To be clear, however, if Walker had not appealed the decision, gay marriage would be legal in Wisconsin right now.

This seems fairly straight-forward, but the state's stenographers media have dutifully printed Walker's nonsense and failed to mention that by appealing the decision, he was taking a very strong position against gay marriage.

Finally, however, has weighed-in and pointed out that Walker could have easily followed Chris Christie's lead, who did not appeal the court's ruling in his state.  As a result, New Jersey has gay marriage right now:

Walker explained his court appeal simply as his obligation as governor to defend the state's constitution.

Other Republican governors, however, including New Jersey's Republican Gov. Chris Christie, opted against appealing a similar ruling in his state, clearing the way for gay marriage to become legal there. But his decision came only after he vetoed his state legislature's initial effort to legalize the practice.
