Milwaukee musician John Sieger offers a sketch and a song as commentary on the current state of affairs in Wisconsin.

He says he didn't write it this week, but it fits:

I just stumbled across this tune from last fall that feels prescient. I had no idea Walker would win or that he would attempt to undo any and all socially forward programs, but something must have been whispering in my ear. See you in Madison Saturday.

Hope he performs it at the rally.

The 5:15 To The Promised Land
Count your blessings on one finger — still your'e doin' all right
There's others who don't have a match — to scratch against the night
Talk about yourself watch what you say — cause you ain't doin' so bad
Your worst day might be the best  — some sorry soul has had
The train is gone — They sold the tracks
The 5:15 to the promised land — they cancelled that
Down where the rubber meets the road — They're braking hard and fast
There ain't much tread left on this tire — This good year it can't last
And Big Daddy he can't help you now — He's got his own set of woes
The gravy boat made him so big — He can't even see his toes

The train is gone — They sold the tracks
The 5:15 to the promised land — they cancelled that
What's a man supposed to — do with his worthless time
Drag you it to the scrapyard — They might give you a dime
But a dime won't buy you coffee — like it did in those dustbowl days
They'll set you up with a glass of water —then they'll send you on your way
They'll send you on your way

The train is gone — They sold the tracks
The 5:15 to the promised land — they cancelled that

The train is gone — They stole the tracks
The 5:15 to the promised land — they cancelled that
